
Exhibition Technician
Description
Do you want to work hands-on with technology, construction, and installation in an environment where you help create experiences for thousands of visitors? We are now looking for an exhibition technician to develop, build, and maintain our exhibitions.
We are seeking a technician with broad craftsmanship skills and technical understanding. As an exhibition technician, you will be placed in the Communications Department, where you will be part of the team that develops and produces the museum's exhibitions.
About the role
You will be responsible for the technical construction, operation, and maintenance of the museum's exhibitions. You will turn design ideas into sustainable and reliable technical solutions.
The work is varied and hands-on, involving construction in exhibition environments, such as woodworking, carpentry, and simple metalwork. The role also includes acting as technical project manager in productions, supervising other technicians, and coordinating external suppliers.
Your experience and skills
Technical education, such as upper secondary school education in construction, crafts, electrical, or technology, or equivalent work experience.
At least 5 years of experience in construction, carpentry, and technical work where both function and form are important.
You are meticulous, solution-oriented, and accustomed to taking responsibility from idea to finished solution.
Broad technical competence and the ability to plan and manage construction in exhibition production.
Basic computer literacy. You can communicate in Swedish, both orally and in writing, to the extent necessary to understand instructions, safety regulations, and technical documentation.
Experience/training in lighting design, AV technology, and electrical safety is meritorious.

Employment conditions and benefits
The position is full-time with an initial six-month probationary period, followed by a permanent contract. Start date by agreement. The workplace is located in Uppsala.
