Mechanical Designer / Team Lead

As a Mechanical Designer and/or Team Lead, you will work in cross-functional teams alongside other engineers and specialists. You are responsible for the entire chain from requirements management and concept development to design, verification, and technical documentation. The role involves an active contribution to the development of both airborne and land-based products, where high demands on precision, quality, and delivery capability permeate the work. Self-drive, responsibility, and good collaboration skills are essential for success in the role.

The work is primarily carried out in Siemens NX (CAD), Teamcenter, and IFS (PDM/ERP). You will have close collaboration with production as well as other engineering disciplines to ensure that solutions are manufacturable, cost-effective, and sustainable in the long term.

Examples of tasks and qualifications

Be responsible for requirements management and technical documentation, including the creation of technical specifications, drawings, reports, and process descriptions in a structured and clear manner.

Design and develop mechanical components and systems, with a particular focus on design for cutting machining. This includes a good understanding of material selection, tolerances, manufacturing methods, and quality requirements.

Work with technical problem-solving by identifying, analyzing, and addressing deviations, as well as driving improvement initiatives related to products and processes.

Participate in and support industrialization and ramp-up of new products and processes in close collaboration with production.

Work cross-functionally and coordinate activities between various departments such as design, production, purchasing, and quality.

Use CAD and PLM systems, primarily Siemens NX and Teamcenter. Experience with IFS is highly meritorious.

Have a good understanding of production processes, production flows, quality control, and basic mechanical principles.

Leadership (for Team Lead role)

Lead and distribute work within the team and ensure that project goals, timelines, and deliveries are achieved.

Plan, coordinate, and follow up on team activities.

Manage change processes (Change Management) and ensure correct implementation of changes in projects and product data.

Act as technical support and sounding board for team members, and contribute to competence development within the group.

Other requirements

Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written.
