Lillängsskolan is an independent primary school in Mariestad for grades f-6. The school is located in the scenic Johannesberg area of Mariestad. It has about 163 students, approximately 24 students per class, 15 employed educators plus school management. Student health team staff are close and accessible in daily work. The organization is well-founded on a common set of values and approach based on research and success factors for school development.

Lillängsskolan has a well-developed pedagogical approach where students train to become responsible, independent, and reflective.

Duties and Personal Qualities

We are looking for employees qualified to work in grades 4–6. We need teachers in Swedish + Social Studies + another subject is of interest as the organization is flexible and adaptable. You will be a mentor, teaching teacher, and responsible for development talks and regular mentor meetings. You are responsible for the school's social mission and see it as an important part of your work. You are independent in your teaching role but see the importance of and strive to work together with your colleagues. Being where the students are is natural to you and something you strive for, understanding that students need adults around them to develop into responsible citizens.

It is natural for you that physical activity is something we need to encourage students to engage in more. You understand the importance of long-term learning, not just learning to meet the grade-level knowledge requirements. You enjoy helping with things that exist in a school even if not directly linked to your subject qualifications. We help each other at school to create a pleasant, safe, and developing learning environment in all areas.

Employment Conditions

We work 9 hours a day, from 730 to 1630. You arrange with your colleagues when to take breaks and rest. You eat together with students and colleagues and are always available for students' questions and needs. Thus, you receive pay for all time you spend at your workplace. You have vacation and compensatory time off during autumn break, Christmas break, winter break, Easter break, and summer break. You work an average of 30-36 hours per week when spread over a school year.

Working hours and terms are regulated by a local collective agreement signed by Friskolan i Mariestad, Sveriges Lärare, and Almega Utbildning.

The entire organization is based on creating conditions for students to develop and providing them with support in this process. Students need not only knowledge to succeed, now and in the future.
