IES Värmdö is a school for grades Pre-K to 9 with approximately 610 students and 68 staff members. We follow the Swedish curriculum and have up to 50% of the instruction in English. The school opened in August 2021 and has established a strong school and after-school culture characterized by safety, study peace, and good relationships.
The school is located in Charlottendal in Gustavsberg, with easy commuting from Stockholm. It takes about 20 minutes by bus from Slussen, and the bus stop is right next to the school.
We are now looking for a dedicated recreation educator for our valued after-school program on a full-time basis, starting according to agreement.About the role
As a recreation educator with us, you work both during lesson time and within the after-school program. During lesson time, you collaborate closely with the classroom teacher to support students with structure, relationships, and study peace, and contribute to a safe learning environment in the classroom.
In the afternoons, you work closely with the students and carry out structured, creative, and engaging activities that you plan together with colleagues. We want to create an after-school program where students feel safe, have fun, and at the same time have the opportunity to develop both socially and educationally, in accordance with the curriculum for the after-school program.
We are looking for someone who enjoys building relationships with students and wants to be an important and safe adult throughout the school day. You are a clear leader and a good role model who has the ability to create structure while building good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues. We place great emphasis on collaboration, flexibility, and a positive attitude.
Since we are a bilingual school, it is important that you are comfortable communicating in both Swedish and English.We are looking for someone who
