Study and Career Counselor

We are looking for someone with a degree in study and career counseling, and it is meritorious to have a certificate showing previous work with children and adolescents. You must be able to build good relationships with students, guardians, and staff in daily work.

As a person, you are communicative, attentive, and well-versed, and you uphold the professional ethical principles for career counselors, with the ability to analyze and document students' abilities and knowledge.

We consider it important that you have a good approach towards students, guardians, and staff. You should be able to easily connect with students, parents, and colleagues. As a study and career counselor at Hannaskolan, we expect you to teach, inform, and guide students about further education and to support other staff in study and career-oriented efforts. Since study and career guidance runs like a common thread throughout primary school, we see that you as an applicant are interested in working from a holistic perspective, as Hannaskolan is a school with students from preschool class to grade 9.

The job duties include guidance in groups or with individual students, as well as teaching/information about applicable study and career guidance. You will also be an important part of the work teams' efforts with students to achieve success in their development. Collaboration with businesses and other external parties is part of the assignment, for example through internship coordination. Together we work for each student to succeed in their schooling and feel well. You should be open to collegial learning, where you contribute with your experience and knowledge to the school's continued work.

An important part of the work is contact and cooperation with guardians, e.g., by participating in or organizing parent meetings during the school year.

Hannaskolan is beautifully located in the western part of Umeå in Umedalen. The school is an independent primary school with a Christian confessional orientation, covering grades F-9 and after-school care. Since the school is based on a Christian values system, we appreciate that you have a Christian faith and share the school's values.
