We are now looking for someone who wants to help shape tomorrow's Lycksele. Lycksele municipality's education system is entering an exciting development phase! We are participating in regional development projects and have several local reorganizations, initiatives, and processes underway, all of which aim to strengthen Lycksele municipality's ability and capacity to be a successful and attractive school municipality with a focus on children's and young people's lifelong learning.

To create better conditions for the principal's pedagogical leadership and reduce the number of employees per principal, we are now expanding our principal organization. In Lycksele municipality, we have 13 preschools, five of which are located in sparsely populated areas. There are 11 comprehensive schools: one lower secondary school, one resource school for grades 4-9, five schools operating in B-form, four of which are located in sparsely populated areas, and four F-6 schools in the urban area.

As a principal, your task is to lead, evaluate, and develop the pedagogical activities with a particular focus on increased quality in terms of preventive work and goal achievement. The role also includes responsibility for budget, staff, and work environment for about 30 employees. In collegial collaboration with the preschool and comprehensive school management team, you work with operational and strategic leadership, school development, and change management – both for your own unit and for Lycksele municipality's preschools and comprehensive schools as a whole.

YOUR PROFILE

We are looking for someone with a university education in pedagogy, pedagogical insight, and experience working in comprehensive schools. Experience in pedagogical leadership and active participation in project and development work is considered meritorious. It is an advantage if you have completed the national principal training program, but we will primarily focus on your personal suitability and development potential in the recruitment process. Good digital competence is a requirement.

As a person, you have the ability to inspire and motivate others, where your strength lies in actively listening, communicating, and paving the way for a positive collaborative climate. In communication with others, you are clear about your expectations, and you have a results-oriented approach in priorities, planning, and actions.
