The care and welfare administration is now offering a unique opportunity to obtain a permanent position with salary during your full-time studies to become a licensed practical nurse. A secure choice for those who truly want to make a difference.

As an employee in elderly care, you study full-time to become a licensed practical nurse. During the training period, you have a permanent position as a nursing assistant. After completing your education and receiving approval from the National Board of Health and Welfare, you will be offered a permanent position as a licensed practical nurse.

In your future role as a licensed practical nurse, you and your colleagues are responsible for meeting the individual's needs for good care and a meaningful daily life. This may include care tasks such as assistance with transfers, personal hygiene, household chores, and medical interventions. The job also involves providing emotional support with daily living and social activities as desired.

You are part of a team with other professionals such as specialist nurses, registered nurses, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists. Collaboration also occurs with other healthcare providers and relatives. Under delegation from licensed personnel, you will perform medical care and rehabilitative tasks.

The work is planned, documented, and carefully followed up. As a licensed practical nurse, it is very important to document properly in the operational systems used at the workplace. Digitization is an important future issue for us, and we work with various digital tools to increase the independence of our users and create more efficient working methods. For example, we work with digital supervision, web-based planning support, and mobile documentation. Together with new technology and improved collaboration with other healthcare providers, we will provide our elderly with the best possible care. The education leading to a license as a licensed practical nurse takes place through Linvux over approximately three semesters, including practical placement. In total, we offer 30 places. The training starts in week 33, but there is an opportunity to begin employment earlier to work in a nursing home during the summer until the education starts.

You have a permanent position as a nursing assistant. You have a manager who will provide support during both the education and practical placement. After completing your studies, you will be assigned to a nursing home. The education includes summer and Christmas breaks, during which you will work as a nursing assistant in one of our facilities.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for someone who has passed at least 1800 upper secondary school credit points, including the courses Swedish 1/Swedish as a second language 1 (100 credits) and Social Studies 1 (50 credits). You also have work experience in a profession involving contact with people, such as childcare, retail, the restaurant industry, care, or service. We also see that you have an interest in people, the elderly, and care.

Work in elderly care involves a lot of contact with care recipients and documentation, which means it is a requirement that you can communicate orally and in writing in Swedish. You have good computer skills and the ability to use digital tools in your work.

As a person, you are self-reliant and take responsibility for your tasks, driving your work and studies forward. You work well with others and listen and communicate in a clear manner. It is also important that you have empathy, meaning you can understand others' perspectives and situations. You adapt easily to changing circumstances and see opportunities in change. You bring enthusiasm, energy, and joy to work and influence the direction of discussions as well as other people's motivation. You take pride in your work.
