About us

Kalix Equestrian Association is a non-profit association affiliated with the Swedish Equestrian Federation. We have 12 school horses/ponies and about 150 riders per week. We are a small association aiming high! The welfare of our horses and our core values - Joy, Openness, Community, and Safety - permeate everything we do.

We operate at Kalix municipality's equestrian facility. There is a newly constructed school stable, a member stable with 21 stalls, two indoor arenas, a large outdoor arena, and a walking track. The facility is beautifully situated next to the Kalix River.

The daily operations are managed by our operations manager together with employed horse and stable grooms and riding instructors on behalf of the board. The association currently has 4 employees.

About the position

We are looking for a horse and stable groom who want to contribute to the development of the riding school and the association! The position includes:

• Horse, stable, and facility care

• Other customary tasks at the riding school and boarding stables

• Leadership for children, youth, and adults

• Some training and rehabilitation of school horses

We are looking for someone who:

• Has good knowledge of horses

• Has good communication skills

• Has good self-leadership and can prioritize in daily work

• Has a positive basic attitude and a flexible approach

• Thrives working both independently and in a team

• Has a well-developed safety mindset

We place great importance on personal suitability.

The position is a permanent employment at 75% (or as agreed). We have a collective agreement. The position may involve varying working hours with scheduled work during daytime, evenings, and weekends. We apply a 6-month probationary period.

Presentation of an extract from the criminal record will be required upon employment.
