About Kungsbacka Pastorate

Kungsbacka Pastorate was formed in January 2026 and includes the parishes of Kungsbacka-Hanhals, Tölö, and Älvsåker, as well as burial services at six cemeteries. There are about 18,000 church members and around 60 employees. The pastorate offers a rich and varied worship and parish life with people who want to share the church's faith and life, providing a solid foundation for continued development.

As a new pastorate, we are now creating common structures and working methods while each parish continues its local work. Openness and inclusion are important guiding principles for us, as is respectful treatment.

About Kungsbacka-Hanhals Parish

In Kungsbacka-Hanhals Parish, there is a vibrant worship and parish life where people of all ages meet. Every Sunday there is a high mass at Kungsbacka Church and a mass on Sunday afternoons, alternating every other week at Hanhals Church and every other week at St. Gertrude's Church.

The parish has a well-developed educational program, an active confirmation and youth ministry, and a rich music and choir life. The team consists of 15 employees who together carry and develop the parish's activities in close collaboration.

About the Position

As a priest in Kungsbacka-Hanhals Parish, you become part of a shared team where cooperation and participation are central. Your immediate supervisor is the parish's operations manager, and together with colleagues, you help develop activities for children, youth, and adults.

Since the pastorate is new, there is also an opportunity to contribute to a larger context where working methods and structures are still being formed. The position includes both continuity and growth – in worship life, teaching, meetings with parishioners, and interaction with the surrounding world.

We are looking for someone who:

• Is collaborative, flexible, and humble.
• Is self-assured and finds it easy to meet people in different life situations.
• Has experience working with children, youth, and adults.
• Is committed to the church's mission and wants to meet parishioners of all ages.
• Enjoys developing parish life in interaction with society and the wider world.
• Is ordained in the Church of Sweden and preferably has a few years of experience as an assistant minister.

We would also like you to have:

• An interest in developing worship life as well as confirmation and youth ministry.
• Experience with change management and willingness to contribute to processes where both parish and pastorate develop together.
