On-Call Employees for Ny Gemenskap

Do you want to make a real difference for people experiencing homelessness, loneliness, or other vulnerability? Ny Gemenskap is a non-profit organization that for over 50 years has offered food, warmth, support, and most importantly – compassion to our guests.

About the organization

Ny Gemenskap operates at five locations in Stockholm and is an open and welcoming meeting place with a particular focus on society's most vulnerable. People from various backgrounds and with different needs come here. In addition to breakfast service, distribution of clothes and food packages, we offer cultural programs, conversations, support initiatives, and referrals.

We are now looking for several temporary employees who can work on an on-call basis and become part of our dedicated team.

Duties

As an association employee, your tasks will include:

• Planning and distributing daily work together with the café manager, including purchasing and statistics.
• Preparing breakfast and working practically in the team.
• Welcoming our guests, contributing to a safe and warm atmosphere, and participating in daily activities.
• Helping with cleaning and maintaining order in the premises.

A large part of the work involves the human encounter — listening, seeing, and affirming. With us, you make a difference every day, both for society and for the individual.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

• Has experience meeting and working with people living in social vulnerability, such as homelessness, loneliness, or financial hardship.
• Has education in healthcare, social care, or social work (meritorious but not required).

• Initiative-taking, self-assured, and have a positive attitude.
• Responsive, respectful, and accustomed to meeting people in various life situations.

• Scope: Hourly employment on an on-call basis, Mon–Fri 8 AM–1 PM
• Location: Various: Söder, Norrmalm, Kungsholmen, Vällingby, and Västberga
• Start: Immediately
