
Lecturer in Archival Science and Library and Information Science
Description
The Division of Archival Science and Library and Information Science belongs to the Department of History and Contemporary Studies. Teaching in Archival Science has been conducted at Södertörn University for some time, while Library and Information Science is a relatively recent addition to the educational offerings. The subjects currently employ six teachers and offer teaching up to undergraduate level.
We are seeking a temporary lecturer who can see themselves teaching in both subjects and who has the drive to learn more and develop their knowledge in Archival, Library, and Information Science. We are a small academic environment that is partly under development and are looking for someone with a keen interest in the archive and library fields, who has specialized in archives or libraries, but who wants to broaden their knowledge and learn more.
Job Duties
Job duties include teaching in Archival Science and Library and Information Science. Teaching in other subjects, such as within teacher education, may also become relevant. Duties also include teaching-related administration. Teaching is conducted in Swedish.
Eligibility
Eligible for employment as a lecturer in Archival Science and Library and Information Science is the person who has completed a university degree in Archival Science or Library and Information Science and demonstrated pedagogical proficiency. The applicant must have completed at least 7.5 credits of higher education pedagogical training or have equivalent competence. Eligibility also includes professional skill relevant to the subject content and duties of the position. The applicant must otherwise have the personal abilities needed to perform the employment well and to represent the university in a way that benefits the activities. This position requires that the applicant master teaching in Swedish.
Pedagogical proficiency is demonstrated through solid and current knowledge relevant to the position and a self-reflecting approach to students' learning and experiences as well as to one's own teaching role. Pedagogical experience can be gained through work in higher education or other activities.

Employment
The employment is a fixed-term position for one year, starting on August 1 or by agreement, with a scope of 100%. Start for the fall semester 2026.
