Europaskolan Södermalm & Vasa International School of Stockholm – Two Schools, One Shared Vision

Europaskolan Södermalm and Vasa International School of Stockholm are two schools within the same organization, located in central Stockholm. Both schools are characterized by a warm, family-like atmosphere and a strong international perspective. Together, we work to foster students into critical and creative thinkers, responsible and proactive global citizens.

Europaskolan Södermalm is a two-track F–9 school with an international heart. Vasa International School of Stockholm is a parallel operation with similar core values and pedagogical direction, where closeness, commitment, and strong relationships are central.

We are highly regarded workplaces where teachers have influence over operations and receive clear support from management. We actively invest in building close relationships within the staff, as we know this is crucial for both a good work environment and a positive study environment for students. We do this through joint activities, trips, and forums where colleagues can get to know each other and build trust.

The management team consists of one principal for each school, along with a total of three assistant principals and an administrative manager. Our schools also have lead teachers who drive development work in various areas. The proportion of qualified and ambitious teachers is high. We also have well-equipped school libraries with librarians who work closely with teachers.

We offer small classes with motivated students. The atmosphere is characterized by warmth and respect between students, teachers, and management, and there is good study peace during lessons. Together, we create a safe environment where all staff take responsibility for all students.

We set high but reasonable academic expectations, as we believe students develop best when expectations are clear and appropriately challenging. Our graduating classes in grade 9 often achieve results that place them among the best in Stockholm.

Since 2007, Europaskolan has been an authorized International Baccalaureate (IB) school. This means that we work according to IB's quality requirements and pedagogy in primary, middle, and secondary school. IB's Primary Years Programme and Middle Years Programme provide teachers with powerful tools for holistic and conceptual learning. As a class teacher with us, you will:

Create inspiring and well-structured thematic projects, so-called units, together with colleagues.

Build a clear and safe learning environment where you are a natural leader.

Design tasks with clear goals and relevance for students.

Collaborate across subjects and contribute to interdisciplinary projects.

Be a mentor and work actively for good cohesion in the class and school.

Develop within IB pedagogy with support from colleagues and management.
