Europaskolan Södermalm is a two-form entry F-9 school with an international heart. We aim to foster students to become critical and creative thinkers, responsible and proactive global citizens.

We are a very popular workplace where teachers have influence over operations and receive support from management. We invest in creating close relationships among our staff because we believe it is crucial for both a good workplace and a good study environment for students. We do this by organizing trips and other activities where staff can get to know each other and build trust.

The school's management consists of a principal, three assistant principals, and an administrative manager. The school has six senior teachers responsible for different development areas. The proportion of qualified teachers is high, and they are ambitious. We also have a well-equipped school library with a librarian who works closely with teachers.

We have small classes with study-motivated students. The atmosphere at the school is characterized by warmth between students, teachers, and management, and there is a calm study environment during lessons. We create a safe environment together where all staff help to guide all students.

We also set high but reasonable academic demands on our students because we believe students perform and thrive best when expectations are clear and appropriately challenging. Our graduating classes in year 9 often have an average merit value that places them among Stockholm's best.

Since 2007, we have been an authorized International Baccalaureate (IB) school. This means we meet IB's quality requirements for primary, middle, and lower secondary levels and deliver their pedagogy at a high level. The IB Primary and Middle Years programs are developing and inspiring educational programs that give teachers tools to teach in a holistic and conceptual way. Our teachers also have opportunities for further training within IB's broad professional development program.

Your Responsibilities:

A subject teacher at Europaskolan must be able to perform the following tasks:

• Create inspiring and well-structured units (thematic projects) for students together with your colleagues.
• Create an inspiring and structured learning environment where the teacher is the obvious leader and where students thrive and can develop.
• Create assignments that are relevant to students and based on clearly formulated success criteria.
• Collaborate with colleagues in different subjects to share experiences and also create interdisciplinary thematic projects for students.
• Be an engaged mentor for your class and collaborate with other teachers to improve cohesion in classes and the school.
• Learn about IB's pedagogy with help from management and your colleagues.
