Upper Secondary School Teacher in Swedish as a Second Language

Södertörns Gymnasium is now seeking a qualified upper secondary school teacher in Swedish as a second language and mentor.

We are looking for someone who is a skilled teacher and leader, interested in development and integration, and good at collaboration. You are an upper secondary school teacher with subject qualifications in Swedish as a second language.

You have extraordinary commitment and drive. You are a clear leader who creates security and is a role model for your students. You teach in an inspiring way and engage with students and their goals through a coaching approach. As a person, you are creative and open to new ideas and perspectives. You are loyal, sensitive, and have a high sense of responsibility.

If you are qualified in additional subjects at the upper secondary level, it is a merit.

The position is 100%. Start date 2026-08-10. The position is a temporary assignment - tentatively until week 10, 2027.

Your Duties

In the role of teacher, you are responsible for creating an extraordinary upper secondary school where students and parents are satisfied with both teaching and the school environment. Your task is to motivate and give every student the opportunity to develop successfully.

Duties and responsibilities

- Teaching Swedish as a second language and graduation thesis.

- Mentor for three classes.

- Motivating and guiding students toward good academic results, goal achievement, and knowledge development, as well as monitoring students' progress, academic results, and attendance.

- Actively contributing to the school's overall development and taking responsibility for the organization achieving its goals.
