Description

Do you want to work at an independent analysis agency where committed employees are the most important resource? The Swedish Agency for Health and Care Services Analysis is tasked with monitoring and analyzing healthcare, dental care, and social services from a patient, user, and citizen perspective. Demand for our analyses is increasing, and the agency is growing.

We are expanding from three to five units and are therefore looking for unit managers who want to help develop our analysis operations and contribute to knowledge bases that influence the development of Swedish healthcare, social services, and dental care.

About the role

As a unit manager, you lead the work in one of the analysis department's five units and have operational, budgetary, and personnel responsibility for approximately ten employees. You lead a group of qualified analysts and investigators with advanced subject and methodological expertise.

You lead through dialogue, clear goals, and trust in employees' skills. You coach and support them in the various parts of the analysis work – from study design, data collection, and delimitations to analysis and report writing. You have overall responsibility for ensuring quality, conclusions, and recommendations in the analyses you are responsible for. Your mission also includes driving and resolving issues of strategic importance to the agency and its analysis operations.

The role involves close collaboration with the agency's other managers. You are part of the agency's management group and play a central role in developing the analysis operations and contributing to the agency's long-term direction.

We work in a matrix organization where large parts of the operations are managed in project form. You will lead employees in other units as well and be responsible for staffing and planning the analysis work in close collaboration with your fellow managers. Our work is characterized by participation and collaboration. You are skilled at building networks and creating good relationships with colleagues and partners.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • university education in social sciences or other relevant field, or experience and qualifications deemed equivalent by the employer
  • solid experience of working with analysis, monitoring, and evaluation in a knowledge-intensive organization
  • good knowledge of investigation and evaluation methods, and experience handling both qualitative and quantitative data
  • good knowledge in one or more of the areas: healthcare, social services, and dental care
  • previous managerial experience
  • very good ability to collaborate and cooperate effectively with others to achieve common goals
  • good communication skills, both verbal and written.

Advantageous:

  • experience working in a politically governed organization tasked with producing advanced analysis and knowledge bases with high policy relevance
  • experience leading change and development work in a knowledge-intensive organization.

Personal qualities

  • are a good leader and have a well-developed ability to adapt your leadership based on what the situation and mission require
  • balance short-term result demands with a long-term sustainable approach
  • are proactive and solution-oriented, with the ability to understand the conditions of the business and employees
  • are humble and secure in yourself, and promote a trusting work environment
  • are initiative-taking and goal-oriented, can make well-balanced priorities, and show good judgment in statements, actions, and decisions.

We place great emphasis on personal qualities.
