Description

What does a workday look like – if it happens to be in Nairobi?

As a school nurse and boarding assistant, you are a central part of the students' everyday life – not only during the school day, but also during leisure time and at the boarding house. You contribute to a safe and stable environment where students are seen, grow, and dare to take their place – both in school and in life outside the classroom.

In this role, you combine the medical student health responsibility with a clear adult responsibility at the boarding house. You work preventatively and health-promoting, meet students in both planned and spontaneous situations, and act as a reassuring support in their daily lives. You are a natural point of contact for students' physical and mental well-being and actively contribute to creating structure and security in their lives far from home.

At the boarding house, you are present during evenings and weekends and are responsible for creating a meaningful, active, and safe free time. This involves planning and carrying out activities, building relationships, and being available for conversations, support, and guidance when needed. Your role is important in creating a balance between responsibility, community, and well-being in boarding life.

The work is characterized by variety, with no two days being the same. You will use your skills, commitment, and experience to meet students in different situations and contribute to a safe and developmental environment – both at the boarding house and in everyday school life.
