Description

About the School

Nacka Strands Gymnasium is an independent upper secondary school with about 490 students and 40 staff members. Here you will find a stable and engaged team where collegial community is strong and the development of teaching is ongoing.

We offer a safe, family-like, and study-focused environment in modern, newly renovated premises centrally located in Nacka Strand.

About the Position

We are looking for a committed and qualified special education teacher with a focus on mathematics development for a full-time position starting in August 2026.

In this role, you will work both operationally with students and strategically with the school's pedagogical development. You are responsible for identifying, mapping, and analyzing obstacles in students' learning, as well as designing and implementing adaptations and special support. A central part of the position is driving mathematics development at the school, which involves coaching subject teachers in differentiating and making mathematics instruction accessible to all students.

You will be part of the school's student health team and work closely with teachers and mentors to create the best conditions for our students to reach their goals. The position may also include mentoring a group of students.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is a licensed teacher with a special education degree, preferably with a specialization in mathematics development.
  • Has experience in conducting pedagogical assessments and developing action programs.
  • Works formatively and inclusively, with the ability to meet students at their level and strengthen their confidence in, among other things, mathematics.
  • Is skilled at building relationships and creating trust with students, guardians, and colleagues.
  • Is solution-focused, analytical, and enjoys being a pedagogical resource for colleagues.
  • Has good digital competence and sees AI-based tools as an obvious asset in work with adaptations and support.

Experience in upper secondary school and prior involvement in school development projects related to mathematics is meritorious.

We offer you:

  • A warm and engaged collegium with a positive atmosphere and high commitment.
  • A family-like work environment where student-centered work, structure, and care permeate operations.
  • A central role in the school's student health work and pedagogical development.
  • Pedagogical lunch and wellness benefits.
  • Holiday employment according to collective agreement (Almega Education – Sweden's Teachers).

Application

Interviews are conducted on an ongoing basis, and the position may be filled before the application deadline.
