Preschool Teacher - Temporary Full-Time

Birkaskolan is a facility with children aged 1-5 years, from preschool to students in compulsory school grades F-9 and after-school care. The school's goal is to, with the help of Montessori pedagogy, develop creativity, self-confidence, and a desire to learn.

In the preschool, we have about 130 children distributed across 8 departments.

In August 2025, we moved into brand new premises with all our operations under one roof. The school is located in an area with great opportunities for outdoor activities in the surrounding nature. We have our own KRAV-certified production kitchen.

We base our work on Montessori pedagogy, which means we work from prepared environments where children learn through their curiosity and interest with the support of educators. Our preschool also offers continuity and security in an inspiring environment adapted to the children's size and developmental level. We want each child, based on their own conditions, to grow and develop into an independent individual at their own pace. The children's groups are mixed-age, and older children serve as role models and can guide and help the younger ones.

Free play, nature, and creative activities are also a large and important part of the operations.

We are looking for you who are a qualified preschool teacher. We want you to have good collaboration skills, be flexible, and have a positive attitude. We want you to enjoy challenges and think differently. You should be able to develop the pedagogical environment together with other educators in the department so that the operations are stimulating and challenging. You drive and develop pedagogy in line with Montessori pedagogy and the preschool curriculum, together with other preschool teachers and childminders.

The position is a temporary appointment during the academic year 2026/2027, starting in September 2026.

Interviews are conducted on an ongoing basis, and the position may be filled before the ad expires. Start date is in October.
