Description

Construction/Vehicle, advanced conversion of unique expedition RV

I am looking for a highly skilled, self-motivated and practical person to work on Gotland, with a clear focus on a comprehensive conversion of a four-wheel drive Mercedes Sprinter-based campervan. The project involves rebuilding the vehicle to accommodate my specific and extensive disability – in practice a custom-adapted platform where solutions are developed and refined continuously.

I am a filmmaker, adventurer, and former builder who, after a motorcycle accident, lives as paralyzed (quadriplegic). I still run the projects and work closely with the execution, but need the right person to turn ideas and constructions into reality. The work is done directly under me – with great personal responsibility, but also with clear direction and high demands for precision.

The focus is on the vehicle: mechanics, construction, interior and custom solutions. This can involve everything from modifications to more extensive conversions depending on what is required to achieve the right level. The goal is a fully functional, accessible and eventually expedition-ready vehicle that I myself can use and drive.

At its core, this is an assistant role, but not focused on personal care. That part is handled by others. Here, it is about being my hands in an advanced practical project where details, function and durability are crucial.

You should have real experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Vehicle mechanics and modification
  • Carpentry/construction, especially custom solutions
  • Practical problem-solving at a high level

You do not need to know everything, but what you do must be of high quality. I work carefully and build for quality. Much of the work involves finding and implementing solutions that are not readily available, requiring both professional skill and independent thinking.

You work independently but in close collaboration with me, take responsibility for the result, and are comfortable working on a project where direction and solutions evolve over time. Own tools and own, reliable transport are a requirement.

The work is hourly (approx. 200 SEK/h) and will likely start part-time. For the right person, there is the opportunity to become an important part of an unusual build that could also attract attention and in the long run be linked to documentation or film.

I live about 10 minutes south of Visby. Write briefly what you can actually do at a high level, what you have built or modified before, and how you work.
