As a teacher, you will work in a teaching team that takes a holistic view of student relationships and learning. All staff at the school aim to ensure that every student develops according to their own conditions. In your position at Friskolan Nytorp, you will teach tractor driving, agricultural machinery and implements, as well as the subject of natural resource management. You will contribute in an inspiring way to provide agriculture-interested young people with a basic and realistic education.

Friskolan Nytorp is located in Arbrå, situated in the Ljusnan valley, which offers varied landscapes and rich wildlife.

Nytorp as a school has existed since 1946 and is characterized by a safe, family-like atmosphere. We are a small, cheerful team that works closely with students to ensure accessibility, participation, and goal achievement. The school offers two upper secondary programs: Natural Resource Management with specialization in agriculture and nature tourism, as well as the Construction and Civil Engineering program with specialization in earth and construction.

As we see it, besides the general mission of knowledge, the school has an important societal role in educating young people for jobs in sustainable agriculture and rural development, or to meet the increasing demands for skilled machine operators in construction.

The school is in constant development and looks to the future with confidence. Since the school is small, employees have great influence in making the school an attractive workplace and a good educational alternative for today's youth. The job fosters close relationships with both students and colleagues. The school currently has 100 students, and our goal is to increase this to 120 students.

The school farm currently comprises 70 hectares of arable land, 16 dairy cows, 25 ewes, and some small animals. Practical teaching in milk and pig production takes place at the school's partner farms.

Job Description

You will teach and instruct students in tractor driving, service, and machine maintenance. The position includes planning, implementation, and evaluation of teaching. As part of the agricultural education team, you will collaborate closely with all staff to ensure students acquire the knowledge required by the program. We value broad knowledge in applicants to ensure flexibility in the role. This position is a holiday-based job, and irregular working hours may occur, for example, during evenings and weekends in peak season.

Qualifications

A teaching license is required. You should also have professional experience in machine operation within agriculture. Post-secondary education in agriculture is meritorious.

We expect you to have good rapport with young people and be a good role model both personally and professionally.

You must be able to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

As a person, we want you to be initiative-taking and have the ability to collaborate. You are structured and have an aptitude for solving problems as they arise. Last but not least, you have a positive pedagogical and safety-oriented approach.

Probationary employment may be applied. The position starts in August, or as agreed.
