Description
We are now looking for a teacher to instruct theater for students in grades 4-9 at Entréskolan in Örebro. If you are interested in developing our aesthetic profile in theater in close collaboration with our other aesthetic profile teachers, then you are the person we are looking for. The position is 30%. There is also the opportunity to add additional subjects to increase the employment rate. We are also currently looking for teachers in English, French, and music.
Entréskolan is an aesthetic primary school for grades 4-9 with a focus on active learning through creative expression and interdisciplinary work in aesthetic forms. Entréskolan is located in Västerås, Stockholm, Eskilstuna, and Örebro. We offer four aesthetic profile choices: theater, music, dance, and art.
We are looking for an engaged theater teacher with broad knowledge in directing, set design, sound/lighting, acting, and scriptwriting. A person who can uplift and inspire, and collaborate with our students to create exciting and important theater.
As a theater teacher, you lead and instruct our students in our theater profile. The role involves planning, conducting, and evaluating theater instruction with students in the theater program. Students have theater on their schedule twice a week. You plan and execute performances with students in close collaboration with the other profile teachers in music, dance, and art.
The position is 30% but with extended hours during full-day rehearsals and performance work. You will be part of the aesthetic team alongside other aesthetic teachers in music, dance, crafts, and visual arts. Administrative tasks and student and parent contact are included, and we use digital tools for this purpose. Responsibility for the prop store is also part of the position.
As a person, you are creative, driven, and accustomed to producing performances with students and colleagues. You have the ability to view situations and decisions from a holistic perspective. You have a good ability to build relationships and collaborate, both with students and other staff. You have a genuine interest in students' own creative power and creativity. You are open, development-oriented, receptive, respectful, and contribute to our value-based work. You are confident in your role as an educator/teacher and take responsibility for your assignment.
We are looking for someone with a university education in theater pedagogy or equivalent. You have experience in theater education work with children and young people. We primarily seek those with a teaching license and qualifications in theater. However, broad experience in theater activities is also meritorious. Students' learning and development are central. You have good knowledge of working with students with different conditions and can adapt your instruction to various needs.
We place great emphasis on flexibility and solution focus, and that you can collaborate and communicate with students, colleagues, school management, and other staff.
