Audition for Billy Elliot the Musical – Fall 2027
Description
In Fall 2027, Östgötateatern will stage the musical Billy Elliot.
The musical Billy Elliot, like the film, is a tribute to the power of art as inspiration and the opportunity to change life beyond your wildest dreams. A life-affirming musical with music by Elton John.
Billy grows up in a declining English mining town. His family is struggling. His mother has been dead for a year, and in grief, his father and older brother fight to make ends meet, while a major miners' strike defines their entire existence. As a boy, Billy is expected to take up boxing or other "masculine-coded" activities, but when he accidentally ends up in the girls' ballet class, something ignites within him…
