About the parish

The parish holds our strong diaconal and youth work in high regard. We are present in the community in many ways, including collaborations with Kristinehamn Municipality, local ecumenical congregations, and several volunteer organizations. We also have a varied worship life, appreciated activities for all ages, and a rich musical program of high quality. About the position

You will work in a team with two other deacons and other staff to meet people in different life situations with hope, courage, support, and care. This takes place both individually and in groups. You will work to run open activities, various types of discussion groups including grief support groups, and participate in the parish's social work at Hela Människan Kristinehamn. The position also includes pastoral counseling, home visits, visits to specialized nursing homes, and services. You will collaborate with various actors, both within the parish and in society at large, all to create networks and support structures for people in vulnerable life situations. The work is centered on the altar, with the principle of all people's equal value at its core.

We are looking for you who

· is a deacon, will soon be ordained as a deacon, or has relevant education with the goal of becoming a deacon according to the Church of Sweden's order.

· want to meet people on an equal footing with respect and warmth in a wonderful parish.

· is engaged, empathetic, positive, and can work both independently and in a team.

· shares our commitment to social and diaconal work.

· holds a valid driver's license (this is a requirement from our side).

About Kristinehamn

Kristinehamn Parish in the Diocese of Karlstad encompasses six beautiful and very different churches and four (soon five) parish centers. Among our meeting places is also the parish's summer cabin, which features an archipelago chapel.

Kristinehamn is a gem on the shore of Lake Vänern. Here you can enjoy small-town charm and history, the archipelago, Värmland's forests, and a vibrant countryside. Kristinehamn is also a garrison town, and one of our priests serves as military chaplain at A9. From Kristinehamn, you can reach Karlstad or Karlskoga in about 30 minutes, and Örebro in about an hour.
