Utsikten School is seeking a confident and committed employee for a fixed-term position of 3 years as a diabetes resource, support educator and leisure activities staff for our middle school.

Job responsibilities

The assignment includes:

· being a diabetes resource for a student in need of medical and educational safety during the school day

· working as a support educator in the classroom and in other learning environments

· participating in and contributing to leisure activities

· collaborating with teachers, leisure staff, student health services and guardians

· supporting students socially and pedagogically throughout the school day

We are looking for someone who

· is responsible, calm and has a good ability to create a sense of security

· has experience working with children of school age

· ideally has knowledge of or experience with diabetes (or is willing to learn)

· enjoys working outdoors and using nature and outdoor life as a pedagogical tool

· is flexible and enjoys varied tasks
