Riding Instructor / Stable and Horse Caretaker for Malung-Sälen Riding Club

About us

Malung-Sälen Riding Club is a non-profit association founded in 1976 and currently has about 100 mounts per week. The club owns 11 horses and runs a riding school for children, teenagers, adults, and people with disabilities. The facility is beautifully situated next to the Västerdal River and consists of a heated indoor arena 22x45m, an outdoor arena 60x90m, and a stable with space for both the riding school's horses and boarding private horses. There are also a few guest boxes adjacent to the indoor arena and a clubhouse with overnight accommodations.

Job duties

Job duties included in the position are teaching riding school students, some contribution to the maintenance of the facility, stable duties, and care of the horses. The position also includes riding and training the riding school's horses, as well as some administration. The position involves work during the day, evenings, and some weekends.

Qualifications

We are looking for 1-2 new employees for our team who, together with us, want to further develop our fine riding school and welcome students of all ages, beginners as well as experienced, to our operation.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about horses and teaching, especially children and teenagers, and is a good role model for our students. You are positive, driven, and want to contribute to the development of the operation. You have good social skills, are self-sufficient, can take your own initiative, and find it easy to collaborate with others.

We prefer that you have training equivalent to at least a Riding Instructor Course or Level 1, but great emphasis is placed on your personal suitability. Professional experience is meritorious.

Employment conditions

The position involves a 100% employment rate, but we are open to discussing a smaller size of the position and we can also consider splitting the position into 2 smaller jobs if you only want/can apply for a part of the position.

The distribution of duties is approximately 50% riding instructor and 50% stable and horse caretaker, but can be adjusted depending on the applicant's qualifications and your interests.

Alt. 3: Only stable and horse caretaker about 50%

We apply a 6-month probationary period. Start date as soon as possible or by agreement.
