Team Leader for Summer Workers in Organic Farming Gotland

Widegrens Gård runs organic farming of potatoes, carrots, parsnips, and onions. Since the farming is organic, our carrot and onion fields are weeded by hand. Workers lie on machines with walls and roofs. For this, we hire a large group of young people and team leaders every summer. Most of these young people take their first steps into the workforce with us, and to give them a good start and create conditions for them to succeed in doing a good job, our team leaders play a very important and crucial role.

We are looking for you who

· have experience in leadership (or willingness and potential) or have otherwise worked with youth/teams

· are responsible, structured, and have good communication skills

· can provide constructive feedback

· have the ability to motivate and create engagement

· see every individual in a team and treat everyone equally and with respect

· enjoy working outdoors regardless of weather

· have experience and/or interest in agriculture/farming (an advantage but not a requirement)

· have accommodation on Gotland

· have driver's license + car (bus is not available)

· are smoke-free as we work with and around food and are therefore a smoke-free company

Great importance is placed on the right person. Experience in similar work or ongoing/completed education in leadership/pedagogy is meritorious. References are required and you need to speak fluent Swedish.

Your job duties

As a team leader, your main task is to lead and motivate your team with a coaching leadership style, with the goal of reaching each employee's full potential so that we work efficiently and with a good team spirit. You as a team leader also work on the wagon together with your team. Your workplace varies among our different fields in the middle of the island, such as Mästerby, Dalhem, Väskinde. Shifts in the packing facility may also become relevant.

· ensure that the work is carried out according to the company's routines with a focus on quality and a safe and secure work environment

Working hours/period/other info

The work period runs from mid/late June to late July/early August, with some flexibility. As a team leader, you work about 4-5 days/week during the period. The position is daytime and may involve work on both weekdays and weekends.

There may also be an opportunity for a longer seasonal employment (May-October) where you also work with other farm tasks in the field, such as potato harvesting or in the packing facility.

Salary according to agreement, we have a collective agreement via Livsmedelsförbundet/Gröna arbetsgivare.
