Are you development-oriented and interested in society? Do you want to become part of our knowledgeable team? Ålands statistik- och utredningsbyrå (ÅSUB) is an independent institute that is Åland's official statistics authority and carries out social science research and investigation assignments. We contribute with knowledge and facts for decision-making, research and debate. Quality, impartiality, commitment and joy at work are our guiding principles and we prioritize continuous competence development as the work evolves continually. We work for a strong and inclusive community in the team. ÅSUB currently has twelve employees and the working language is Swedish. The tasks include independently developing and producing official statistics and other public statistics. The areas of responsibility currently include, among others, statistics in the fields of tourism, economy and general statistics. Since ÅSUB is a small institute, opportunities are offered to work within a broad field across the authority's various assignments. The statistician is responsible for the entire production process: data collection, analysis and data management, process development, documentation and reporting. Qualification requirements for the position are a higher university degree (equivalent to EQF level 7) with a suitable subject combination. A research degree is meritorious. Other merits include familiarity with statistical methods and experience from corresponding fields of work. We value experience with relevant statistics and database software packages, such as R and SQL. Knowledge of Åland's societal conditions is also meritorious. We are looking for someone who has good ability to work independently, good collaboration skills, a systematic working method, flexibility and good stylistic ability. Special emphasis is placed on personal qualities and abilities that will be assessed through interviews and reference checks. ÅSUB offers subsidized wellness benefits, flexible working hours and free occupational health care.
