Description

Cook at the National Museum of Science and Technology

Food, sustainability and innovation in the heart of Djurgården

Do you want to cook in one of Sweden's most exciting and innovative restaurant environments?

At the National Museum of Science and Technology, gastronomy, sustainability and innovation meet every day. Here we run a vibrant restaurant operation in the heart of Djurgården – where daily lunch coexists with large events, conferences, evening functions and thousands of curious guests every week.

We are now looking for a cook who wants to help develop a restaurant experience where food, learning and sustainability go hand in hand.

This is not a traditional kitchen. It is a place for those who want to cook good food with care, work creatively, and help shape something bigger.

About the role

As a cook with us, you become an important part of a tight-knit kitchen team with high ambitions and great variety in daily life. You work closely with the head chef and help drive daily operations forward – from preparations and service to menu development, quality and structure.

Here you will work broadly and variedly with:

  • daily lunch service
  • conferences and corporate events
  • larger evening events
  • menu development and seasonal adaptation
  • preparations, cooking and service
  • purchasing, inventory and quality controls

The role suits someone who enjoys both pace and structure, and who likes combining creative cooking with order and responsibility.

About us

The restaurant at the National Museum of Science and Technology is part of the overall experience for our guests. Here we meet families with children, school classes, corporate guests, evening visitors and event audiences – often on the same day.

This requires flexibility, quality and a genuine service mindset.

Our ambition is to become one of Djurgården's most sustainable restaurants. We actively work to reduce waste, make full use of raw materials, and make conscious choices in both the kitchen and dining area. For us, sustainability is not a trend – it is an obvious part of how we work every day.

We believe in food that makes a difference.

For the guest, for the business, and for the future.

About you

You are a confident and engaged cook who loves cooking and thrives in a kitchen where the pace is sometimes high, but quality always remains central.

You are self-driven, responsible and find it easy to collaborate. You enjoy contributing, take initiative and have an eye for both details and the bigger picture.

We believe you are:

  • structured and solution-oriented
  • quality-conscious and meticulous
  • confident in service environments
  • humble and team-oriented
  • curious about sustainable cooking and modern working methods

You enjoy a bustling atmosphere but never lose focus on what matters most – good food, satisfied guests and a well-functioning team.

We are looking for someone with

  • several years of experience as a cook
  • experience from a high-paced restaurant
  • good experience with both independent work and teamwork
  • understanding of kitchen economics, quality and raw material handling
  • interest in sustainability and a modern kitchen
  • good Swedish and English skills

Experience with larger volumes, events or sustainability work is considered an asset.

About the position

The position is part-time by agreement and begins with a six-month probationary period.

Working hours are scheduled and include daytime, evenings and weekends.

Start date by agreement.
