Café & Bar Grindstugan is located just inside the gates of Trädgårdsföreningen, opposite Bältesspännarparken & Stora teatern, in the heart of Gothenburg. We are open from April to October, with the peak season mainly in June, July, and August. During weeks 26-33, we are open every day from 12:00 to 01:00 with live music daily.

We serve coffee, food, and drinks from the café, kitchen, and bar from opening until closing for the evening or night. We offer live music in the form of our fantastic and popular troubadour evenings several days and evenings a week. We'll tell you more when we meet!

For us, it goes without saying that you really enjoy working as a barista and truly understand the importance of every cup of coffee you serve being perfect. Likewise, it is important for you to have order and cleanliness around you and to have an eye for how our sweets, sandwiches, teas, drinks, etc., are displayed in an appealing and inviting way. Absorbing and knowing what we have in our range and its content is an important task. It should always look inviting and nice for our guests, both in the display and around the café. We take for granted that you love to meet and serve guests in the best way with a genuine smile and a kind word! In the café, we also serve drinks and coffee cocktails, so a plus if you also have some experience as a bartender, but it's not a requirement—you will learn on the job. :)

Cash handling, barista skills, and experience are a requirement to manage the tasks of the job — not merely a wish — and you must be used to working both independently and as part of a team. Being accustomed to and capable of working at a high pace is just as important as seeing what needs to be done during quieter times with fewer guests. You must take care of and ensure that the café is prepared and ready to welcome our guests in the best possible way throughout the day/evening.

The minimum age for applicants is 20, due to current legislation regarding serving responsibility under the alcohol permit act.

Your duties, in addition to serving great coffee and what is described above, include handling other tasks that arise in the café, which vary depending on the shift you have that day. During an early shift, this may include helping to receive goods deliveries, arranging items to be sold during the day, and preparing the display so it is well-stocked and inviting when we open for the day. You are responsible for the café being clean and tidy before the doors open to guests. During the day, you are responsible for keeping the display consistently full and fresh, serving at the register, and providing guest service. At closing time, you are responsible for ensuring the café is tidied, cleaned, and ready for the next day. Help prepare other stations together with your colleagues so that everything is sorted and ready for closing and set for the following day. This is an outline of a typical day.
