Technical Writer for Hardware Products

Product Unit Air C4I is looking for a technical writer focusing on hardware to be based in Arboga or Solna.

As a technical writer, you will create and maintain technical documentation for our advanced products and customer projects. You will be responsible for maintaining technical documentation, user manuals, and other related materials.

Your tasks will include

Using XML to structure and organize technical information.

Working with UpTime to ensure high availability and reliability in our systems.

Implementing and maintaining S1000D standards for technical publications.

Writing documentation in both Swedish and English.

Familiarizing yourself with and understanding technical products that mostly consist of hardware, and may also include software components.

Performing simple tests on product hardware.

There may also be opportunities to coordinate and/or conduct training both internally and externally for our customers.

Our experience shows that a combination of testing and documentation work helps you gain the product knowledge needed to write good documentation and present it to customers.

You will belong to a cross-functional team where you collaborate with systems engineers, ILS engineers, and other writers. You will work with different departments to ensure that documentation is accurate and up to date.

The location for the position is Arboga, with the possibility of also working at our office in Solna. Some business travel may be required as our operations are in several locations, specifically Arboga, Linköping, Gothenburg, and Solna.

Your profile

We are looking for both junior and senior writers, and there are several paths to a career as a technical writer. We expect you to have knowledge gained from work experience, or for example through a higher vocational education as a technical communicator.

Excellent writing and communication skills in Swedish and English.

You are comfortable with advanced technical products, especially when it comes to hardware, but also have a basic understanding of software.

Ability to understand advanced technology and express it in a way that is easily understandable for an operator, customer, or user.

Knowledge of XML and UpTime, and an understanding of how these tools are used in practice.

We would like you to have familiarity with S1000D standards and experience implementing them.

Good ability to take initiative and drive your work forward in an independent, efficient, and structured manner.

You thrive in an environment where you can work both independently and in collaboration with colleagues to achieve common goals.

Experience with Simplified Technical English, and the ability to adapt technical information to create clear and accessible texts for different target groups.

Experience in the defense industry and knowledge of other relevant technical standards and tools is considered a merit.

The position requires that you undergo and be approved according to current security protection regulations. For positions where our customer requires a security classification, this may, where applicable, entail requirements for specific citizenship.
