Product Unit Air C4I is seeking a technical writer with a focus on hardware for placement in Arboga or Solna.

As a technical writer, you will create and maintain technical documentation for our advanced products and customer projects. You are responsible for maintaining technical documentation, user manuals, and other related materials.

You will, among other things

Use XML to structure and organize technical information.

Work with UpTime to ensure high availability and reliability in our systems.

Implement and maintain S1000D standards for technical publication.

Write documentation in both Swedish and English.

Get acquainted with and understand technical products that consist mainly of hardware, and may also include software components.

Perform simple tests on the product's hardware.

There may also be opportunities to coordinate and/or conduct training internally as well as externally for our customers.

Our experience is that a combination of testing and documentation work contributes to gaining the product knowledge needed to write good documentation, as well as presenting it to customers.

You will belong to a cross-functional team where you collaborate with systems engineers, ILS engineers, and other writers. You collaborate with various departments to ensure that the documentation is accurate and up to date.

The place of employment is Arboga, with the possibility to also work at our office in Solna. Some business travel will be included as our operations take place in multiple locations, specifically in Arboga, Linköping, Göteborg, and Solna.

Your profile

We are looking for both junior and senior writers, and there are several paths to a career as a technical writer. We expect you to have knowledge from work experience, or for example through a vocational college education as a technical communicator.

Excellent writing and communication skills in Swedish and English.

You are comfortable with advanced technical products, especially when it comes to hardware, but also have a basic understanding of software.

Ability to understand advanced technology and express it in a way that is easy to understand for an operator, customer, or user.

Knowledge of XML and UpTime, and understanding of how these tools are used in practice.

We appreciate familiarity with S1000D standards and experience in implementing them.

Good ability to take initiative to drive your work forward in an independent, efficient, and structured manner.

You thrive in an environment where you can work both independently and in collaboration with colleagues to achieve common goals.

Experience with Simplified Technical English, and the ability to adapt technical information to create clear and accessible texts for different target groups.

It is considered meritorious if you have experience working in the defense industry and possess knowledge of other relevant technical standards and tools.

The position requires that you undergo and be approved according to the security protection regulations in effect at the time. For positions where our customer requires security classification, it may, if applicable, involve requirements for certain citizenship.
