Proofreader - Cookbook on Gelato (Short freelance assignment + future needs)

Are you fast, accurate, and love working with language? We are looking for an experienced proofreader to quality-assure a new Swedish cookbook on gelato - and who can also become a recurring resource for future text projects.

This is an intensive assignment of about one week, with the possibility of more freelance work in the future.

About al dente

Al Dente is an Italian food and lifestyle brand based in Stockholm. We work to spread Italian food culture through courses, events, catering, products, and creative projects. Our focus is on craftsmanship, quality, and authentic taste experiences - from classic pasta dishes to gelato and modern Italian gastronomy.

We also produce content, recipes, cookbooks, and visual material that inspire both home cooks and food enthusiasts. The team consists of creative people with a passion for food, language, and storytelling, and we continuously work with text production and editorial work.

About the project

We are finalizing a cookbook on gelato with a focus on craftsmanship, techniques, and flavors.

The book includes about 100-150 pages with recipes, texts, and photography. Text and layout are almost complete - now we need a final, professional review before printing.

The assignment

You are responsible for proofreading the entire book's content in PDF:

• Spelling, grammar, and language flow

• Consistent terminology and recipe structure

• Checking measurements, ingredients, and phrasing

• Dialogue with the team for any final adjustments

In addition, we are also looking for a person who can be hired as needed for future text and proofreading assignments.
