Project Manager and Sports Coordinator – with Focus on Youth (50%). Heritage Fund project in collaboration with the sports movement.
Are you active in the sports movement and want to strengthen young people's participation? Do you have experience in association life, leadership, or sports development? Gothenburg Sports Museum is looking for a project manager responsible for the sports part of a three-year Heritage Fund project. The project aims to strengthen the influence of secondary and high school students and develop new forms of collaboration between sports and museum activities.
About the project:
The project starts in spring 2026 and focuses on method development, inclusion, and youth participation. In collaboration with RF-SISU, special sports associations, and clubs, new ways for young people to engage and influence activities related to sports history and the present are being developed. The educational part is led by a separate project manager – this position is responsible for sports collaboration and implementation.
About the position:
Project employment at 50% (approx. 20 hours/week) for three years.
You will:
• lead the sports work of the project
• build and develop collaborations within the sports movement
• be the contact person for RF-SISU and other actors
• initiate and coordinate sports-related activities The role is relationship-building, coordinating, and development-oriented with close contact with clubs, leaders, schools, and young people.
Responsibilities
• Develop collaboration with RF-SISU and sports organizations
• Create contacts with clubs and networks
• Plan and carry out activities and meeting places for young people
• Strengthen young people's participation • Coordinate sports involvement in the project
• Participate in planning, follow-up, and reporting
• Contribute to documentation and dissemination of experiences.
We are looking for someone who
• has a strong commitment to youth participation
• is structured, communicative, and collaborative
• has experience working with children and young people (e.g., leader, coach, or developer)
• is at most 26 years old. (The position is funded by the Heritage Fund, and according to fund conditions, the employee must be 26 years or younger). Formal project management education is not required – experience and collaboration skills are most important.
