Sign Language Proficient Personal Assistant Wanted in Karlstad!

We are looking for someone who wants to work as a personal assistant for a woman in her 50s who uses a wheelchair and has a combined visual and hearing impairment. She lives in Karlstad with her family. Dogs live in the home. As an assistant, you will become an important part of her daily life and help create conditions for participation and quality of life. You will have the opportunity to make a real difference by supporting her to live her life as independently and equally as possible.

The work includes everything from care, training, help with activities, etc. Those applying for the position are expected to have knowledge of sign language, at least equivalent to mastery of the manual alphabet. The workplace is in her home and wherever she is. Working hours are scheduled both during the day and in the evening, Monday to Sunday. We would also like you to be able to work on short notice when needed, e.g., due to illness.

Since you will be part of a team of personal assistants selected by and for your specific user, it is important to have a good work ethic where everyone supports each other and can work on short notice when needed, e.g., due to illness.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We would like you to have a flexible and independent way of working and be able to easily adapt to new situations. That you know sign language. You must be able to take responsibility as you work based on the individual's needs. You should have good competence in documentation and a professional approach. Those applying have a genuine interest and sense of care for people.

Other qualities that are good for the job include a good sense of humor, calmness, patience, and being responsible. You must be able to speak fluent Swedish as this is a job where good communication is very important. It is a great asset if you have experience working in personal assistance.
