Social worker for school social team in primary school
Description
Nya Munken is looking for a social worker for the school social team
Do you want to make a difference for children and young people - in the borderland between school and social services? We are now looking for a social worker or someone with an equivalent education for our school social team, where we work together to ensure that more children and young people succeed in school and feel good.
We believe that a safe and functional school attendance is the foundation for a positive future. The mission of the school social team is to work early, preventively and proactively to increase school attendance and strengthen students' mental and social well-being. As a member of the team, you work cross-professionally and in close collaboration with children and young people, parents, school staff, and other stakeholders. The assignment is both relationship-building and structural – with a focus on sustainable solutions around the child/young person.
Your assignment:
- be part of coordinating and implementing the mission within the school social team
- be part of the school's student health team
- counselor, part of the position
The common work of the school social team involves:
- preventing and reducing school absenteeism through early and coordinated interventions
- providing support to children and young people as well as their parents
- supervising school staff and contributing to competence-enhancing measures
- participating in building and further developing the team's working methods, structures, and routines
As a social worker, you are an important link between the school and external stakeholders such as social services. You work with individually tailored interventions for children and young people at risk of school absenteeism or other social issues. The work includes motivational work, family conversations, and coordination of interventions from social services and other relevant actors, as well as within the school unit. You contribute a systemic perspective and a good understanding of children and young people's life situations. You also support mentors in finding sustainable, individual-based solutions and have a good ability to conduct difficult conversations with students, guardians, and staff.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for someone with a degree in social work or another relevant qualification. You have experience in social change and motivational work with children and young people and/or their families.
It is meritorious if you have:
- further training in methods of social work
- previous experience of close collaboration between school and social services
- experience working in primary school
For you to thrive with us, we believe that you:
- have a genuine interest in working based on the needs, rights, and opportunities of children and young people
- enjoy working in a team and contributing to joint development
- are responsible, structured, and able to drive your work independently
- easily build trusting relationships and collaborate with different professions
- are flexible and able to adapt to different situations
Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
