Experienced social worker for Stiftelsen 1825
Description
About 1825
Stiftelsen 1825 is a non-profit and non-profit organization whose purpose is to increase mental well-being and reduce mental illness among young adults, aged 18–25, at both the individual and societal levels. We do this through psychosocial counseling, psychotherapy, knowledge development, and advocacy. Our clinic is located in nice premises at Fridhemsplan in Stockholm, but we also offer fully digital services.
Our vision is a society where young adults receive support for their mental health, on their own terms, so that they can feel good in the long run, develop, and be the protagonists of their own lives.
About the role
We are now looking for an experienced social worker who wants to be a key person in our organization, which consists of both a small permanently employed team and volunteer therapists, counselors, and conversation leaders. This is a broad role where the work may change somewhat over time, based on funding and the organization's needs. But the core of the role is to offer young adults advisory and support conversations, coordination, and operational development.
Main duties:
- Together with the team, develop and be responsible for young adults' initial contact with 1825's counseling clinic.
- Coordinate and develop the Young Adult Line, our advisory service for young adults.
- Collegial guidance of volunteers on the Young Adult Line.
- Conduct advisory, mapping, and supportive conversations with young adults.
- Collaborate with healthcare and social care actors, educational institutions, and other civil society actors.
About you
You are a self-driven and structured person who is good at quickly creating security and building trust in conversations with young adults. You are not afraid of conversations about difficult topics such as violence, loneliness, or suicidal thoughts. You work creatively and solution-focused and are persistent in working with a group that can sometimes be hard to reach. You thrive working in a team in a changing work environment where you have the opportunity to influence.
Qualifications:
- Several years of experience as a social worker, preferably from different areas and types of organizations.
- Experience of psychosocial counseling.
- Knowledge of the healthcare and social care system.
- Experience of collegial guidance.
Meritorious:
- Experience from civil society, non-profit or changing organizations.
- Experience working with young adults and an understanding of the challenges in this life stage.
- Experience of project management or operational development.
- Experience working with volunteers.
We place great importance on personal qualities such as flexibility, collaboration skills, and a drive to contribute to young adults' mental health.
What we can offer you
With us, you get the opportunity to make a real difference for young adults' mental health and future prospects. We offer a meaningful and flexible work environment where you can help develop the counseling support we offer young adults. You become an important part of a committed team with a high ceiling, a big heart, and broad competence.
The position is a full-time fixed-term employment for one year from August 2026, with good chances of extension*. You will work at our clinic in Stockholm, with the possibility of remote work one day a week. Work is mainly during the day, and evening work occurs at least one evening per week.
