Brief course description: Uppsala on Foot - Swedish Culture and Society

This course is literally a walk through Sweden's history, its culture, and society, out on Uppsala's streets. We are outdoors almost every day after a morning in the classroom. We discover places associated with Uppsala's and Sweden's development in various areas. It is lessons with a guided tour where you students can also participate actively in different ways. Each tour has a specific theme, and all walking routes are different. Before each tour, you receive preparatory texts to read. We walk at a calm pace and make several stops, but it is also important to note that we might walk about 4000-6000 steps per day.

The aim is to give you the opportunity to see much of Uppsala during your time here, while learning more about Swedish culture and society and improving your Swedish. Level of Swedish: B1 - C.

Planning exists and can be a useful foundation.

It is important to be familiar with Uppsala's history and have knowledge of both culture and society.

The course takes place at Jensen Gymnasium, Stora Torget 7, Mondays through Thursdays from 1:45 PM to 4:15 PM.
