Interim Department Manager Customer & Market – Consulting Assignment in Stockholm

Selecta Recruitment AB is now seeking an experienced interim department manager for a consulting assignment in the Customer & Market area at our client in the public sector.

Scope

  • Scope: 100%
  • Assignment period: 2026-05-18 – 2026-10-09
  • Location: Stockholm (approximately 50% on-site work)
  • Vacation: Full month of July


About the assignment

We are looking for an interim department manager for the Customer & Market area with personnel responsibility for just over 20 employees, including 2 subordinate managers.

You will have approximately 6 directly reporting employees and responsibility for two teams – Customer Support and Marketing. The department is responsible for customer contacts and actively works to drive interest in the client's offering and increase the utilization rate of the client's framework agreements and dynamic purchasing systems.

The marketing team works with market processing for both Business Area Purchasing Center and Business Area Competence, while the Customer Support team assists customers with their inquiries and ensures a high level of service.

The work includes a data-driven approach with a focus on the CRM system and other relevant systems to identify new business opportunities. A major development effort is underway focusing on digitalization of the customer interface and implementation of AI in the organization's processes.

The role also includes responsibility for planning, executing, and following up on the impact of major customer events.

Recruitment of a permanent candidate for the role has begun and is expected to be completed around October 2026.

During the interim period, your assignment will be to create stability, drive development, and ensure safe and clear leadership through the change journey.

Work tasks

In this role, you are responsible for, among other things:

  • Leading operations through subordinate managers and team leaders
  • Responsible for the department's delivery, results, and quality
  • Driving sales work and market processing
  • Working data-driven with CRM systems and business development
  • Identifying new business opportunities and increasing the utilization rate of existing agreements
  • Contributing to digital development and implementation of AI support
  • Planning, executing, and following up on major customer events
  • Ensuring high quality in customer support and customer dialogue


Qualifications

Formal requirements

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Several years of documented leadership experience including experience of leading operations through other managers in a line organization
  • Experience in sales work, market processing, and data-driven approach
  • Experience in public procurement


Desirable requirements

It is meritorious if you also have:

  • Experience from both private and public sectors
  • A developed network within municipal and regional sectors
  • Experience in category-based purchasing work
  • Experience in digital development work
  • Experience in competence transitioning in organizations
  • Experience in developing and implementing AI support in business processes
