Selecta Recruitment is now seeking an experienced and strategic Emergency Preparedness and Security Chief for an interim assignment with Ekerö Municipality. We are looking for someone accustomed to leading in complex environments who can quickly take responsibility, create structure, and drive development in socially important operations.

About the assignment

• Start: June 15, 2026
• Duration: Until December 31, 2026, with possibility of extension
• Extent: 75–100%
• Location: Ekerö (with regular physical presence required)

Note that the assignment involves security-classified operations. Security vetting is required, and certain parts of the assignment will start only after approved vetting.

Assignment content

As Interim Emergency Preparedness and Security Chief, you will have overall responsibility for leading, developing, and coordinating the municipality's work in civil preparedness, security, and safety.

Your duties will include:

• Ensuring operational management, control, and coordination within emergency preparedness and security work
• Driving strategic development in line with the municipality's direction for 2026–2027
• Being responsible for well-functioning security protection work
• Handling and prioritizing both strategic and operational issues in a changing environment
• Supporting the organization in ongoing recruitments and introduction of new staff
• Clarifying roles, responsibilities, and working methods within the unit and in cooperation with the rest of the organization
• Ensuring good collaboration with external actors and authorities

The role may also involve:

• Dialog with political leadership
• Handling critical incidents and operational matters
• Staff work and crisis management
• Preparing decision documents, referrals, and official statements
• Supporting managers and key personnel in the organization

We are looking for someone who

• Has at least 8 years of experience in a leading role within municipal operations, with full responsibility for staff, budget, and operations
• Has at least 5 years of experience in strategic work within civil preparedness, preferably from a municipality or region
• Has experience as a security protection manager or deputy
• Has solid knowledge of work environment and security-related issues (e.g., threats, violence, undue influence)
• Has experience of staff work and crisis management, and preferably of training in these areas
• Is a confident and clear leader who can create structure in complex situations
• Express themselves very well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing
• Is accustomed to producing strategic documents and decision support
