We are now looking for a confident and self-driven Accounting Economist who wants to work broadly, close to the business, and take responsibility for operational accounting work while also contributing to the improvement and development of methods and routines. About the role

As an Accounting Economist at Proteinbolaget, you are responsible for ensuring correct and efficient ongoing bookkeeping and financial administration, and you play a key role in monthly and annual closings as well as preparing annual reports. You will be part of a small finance team and report to Proteinbolaget's CFO. The role is central to maintaining the quality of our financial processes and ensuring correct reporting basis, as well as providing support to the organization in finance-related matters.

Main responsibilities

• Ongoing bookkeeping, accounting, and reconciliations
• Responsible for ensuring that the accounting complies with applicable laws, regulations, and internal guidelines
• Monthly and annual closings
• Annual report according to K3
• Accounts receivable/payable, incoming and outgoing payments
• Invoicing and payment administration
• VAT and tax returns, including customs and excise duties
• Statistical reporting (Intrastat & SCB)
• Drive improvement initiatives to develop and streamline methods and processes within the finance function
• Support the organization in finance-related matters

Experience and competence

We are looking for someone with a few years of experience as an accounting economist and who is comfortable with both accounting and financial administration. You are used to working independently but also enjoy close collaboration with others.

We are looking for someone who has:

• A university degree in accounting or finance
• At least 3 years of experience in qualified accounting work and is confident in independently handling periodic closings and ongoing bookkeeping
• Extensive practical experience working with ERP systems; Business Central is a merit
• Experience with VAT and tax returns
• Understanding of internal reporting
• Very good skills in Excel
• Fluent Swedish and English in speech and writing
