Föreningen FUB-gården Tallkrogen, in Björklinge, is looking for someone skilled in cooking with experience in cooking for up to 30 portions per meal. The periods run between
June 7 - August 29, 2026.
About the operation:
Every summer, FUB-gården Tallkrogen arranges recreation weeks and camps in a nature-near environment for people with intellectual disabilities. During their stay, guests, with the help of other staff, have the opportunity to go on excursions, eat good food, do activities together, and enjoy their leisure time.
What does the job entail?
As a cook, you plan the menu based on our guests' wishes and needs. You are responsible for calculating and ordering goods for the week's meals. You prepare the food and bake pastries and breakfast bread daily. The meals are the highlight of the day, so we require that the food is tasty, healthy, flavorful, and colorful.
Every day, breakfast with freshly baked bread is served. Then lunch, coffee/tea break, and the day ends with dinner. A variety of salad options are offered with the meals. On the last evening, you prepare a festive dinner.
You should have knowledge of food hygiene and various allergy diets. You document everything in the operation's internal control program. As a cook, you are responsible for serving meals on time, cleaning the kitchen and certain other parts of the facility, and handling some laundry. We hire two cooks per period and a kitchen assistant. The kitchen assistant cleans, does laundry, does dishes, and performs simpler tasks in the kitchen.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for someone who is skilled and has previous experience in menu planning and cooking for about 30 people. You have knowledge of allergy diets and cook both vegetarian, meat, and fish dishes.
It is important that you are familiar with hygiene regulations for kitchens and have experience with internal control programs and how they work.
There are some special diets, and as a cook, it is important to know which foods contain which allergens and what can be served as an alternative to the regular diet. In some cases, semi-finished products are accepted, mainly for allergy diets. Main meals are primarily prepared from raw ingredients, not semi-finished products.
Of course, you as a cook also get to eat the food that is prepared, and there is an opportunity to stay on the grounds during the week. You will then share a room with another staff member. Tallkrogen is located in a rural area with a waterfront plot, and you are only a few meters from Långsjön with crystal clear water. When you are not working, you have the opportunity to swim, use the sauna, fish, or borrow a boat.
