Täby Enskilda is an independent upper secondary school in Täby offering five university preparatory programs: Social Science, Economics, Aesthetics, Natural Science, and Technology. We have approximately 1050 students across 36 classes with 30 students per class, and our premises are bright, modern, and inspiring.

About Our School Library
Täby Enskilda Gymnasium has, in recent years, begun work on building up a school library, and this work is ongoing. The library, together with the school's book store, functions as a combined resource for literature and media for students and staff. It is located in the heart of the school, near the cafeteria, reception, and the common social area called Lärandets Ocean. The library is a place where students can both study in peace and quiet, but also borrow literature, search for information, and get support from staff.
What We Are Looking For
We are looking for you who is a trained school librarian with solid expertise in library and information science. You have a very good understanding of the school library's mission in practice based on current legislation. In your role as a school librarian, you are highly engaged, confident, and clear. Furthermore, you are structured and pedagogically skilled, and you have a good ability to inspire and support both students and colleagues.
You see the library as an active part of teaching and the school's educational mission and have an understanding of how the school library can support students with special needs, for example through adapted media and compensatory tools. You have a very good digital competence, both regarding various systems and the use of AI.
You have a solution-focused attitude, are flexible in collaboration with teachers, and are proactive in developing the library's operations in relation to teaching. You are responsible for supporting students' information and literature competence and for promoting their learning and curiosity. Furthermore, you also see the value in continuously developing the library's pedagogical work together with the school's staff, with the aim that the library should be an inspiring learning environment.
You preferably have experience from working in a school library. We also consider it meritorious if you have knowledge and experience of working in an organization covered by the principle of public access, or have a good understanding of what this means in practice. It is also desirable that you have competence in the SAB classification system.
In the role of librarian with us, you will be responsible for, among other things:
- Supporting students in literature selection and for the lending of books in our library and book store.
- Library service and guidance for students and staff in the use of the library's analog and digital media, including source criticism, information retrieval, and AI.
- Organizing and developing the library's collection — physical and digital media, including purchases, cataloging, and weeding.
- Planning and carrying out reading promotion activities that inspire reading, such as reading challenges and poem of the month.
- Being responsible for exhibitions connected to literature, democracy, and current themes.
- Managing digital resources such as Legimus and Inläsningstjänst, including applications and student contacts.
- Reviewing and renewing the school library's book supply, including fiction, non-fiction, and easy-to-read literature.
- Conducting library introductions for new students.
- Supporting teachers in integrating the library's resources into teaching and contributing to the school's pedagogical goals.
- Planning and carrying out workshops on source criticism and information literacy.
- Participating in the school's planning, follow-up, and evaluation of the library's operations.
Employment type: Permanent employment with probationary period, part-time (approximately 50%).
Start date: August, or by agreement.
