  • ensuring that governing documents are current, functional, and complied with in operations
  • coordinating contacts with collaborating parties such as SOS Alarm, regions, county administrative boards, and the police
  • supporting responsible managers in issues related to work management and follow-up of personnel within the system's functions

The position is a combined role where you will also serve as a duty officer in the management system.

About us

Rescue Region MittNorrland is a collaboration between 25 municipal rescue services in northern Sweden to strengthen the capacity for joint management and coordination during rescue operations. Management functions in overall command are staffed by the rescue service organizations in Jämtland and Västernorrland with workplaces in Östersund and Sundsvall, where we are co-located with SOS Alarm.

As Operations Manager, you are employed by the Jämtland Rescue Services Federation, which is responsible for rescue services and preventive activities according to the Act on Protection against Accidents in all eight municipalities of Jämtland County. We have 35 fire stations and 9 rescue stations, and most of our approximately 600 employees are part-time firefighters (RiB).

About you

We are looking for someone with a structured working style who thrives in a role where coordination, follow-up, and development are central parts. You have a good ability to collaborate and build trusting relationships both within the organization and with external partners.

The role entails great personal responsibility and requires that you can work independently while also having the ability to see the big picture and contribute to the development of the management system.

Qualifications

To be considered for the position, you have:

  • MCF's training Rescue Management B, Incident Commander (LK2) or a fire protection engineer with RUB or other equivalent education that means you have the competence to act as a rescue leader.

Meritorious:

  • Additional training – Management course for duty officer/Duty Rescue Chief
  • Industry-specific experience – previous work in overall management and/or collaboration projects.

The goal is that all duty officers in the management system complete MCF's functional training.

We place great emphasis on your personal qualities. We see that you have the ability, through environmental monitoring and networking, to follow developments in the field. Independently drive and follow up projects and work processes. Contribute to a good work environment and continued development work together with our partners.
