Personal assistant in Askersund - Substitute

About the position

DreamCare Omsorg AB is now looking for a committed and experienced personal assistant to work with an elderly woman living with a diagnosis of Multiple System Atrophy (MSA). This is a challenging and rewarding position where you will be an important part of the client's daily life and contribute to ensuring the highest possible quality of life.

Duties

As a personal assistant, you will provide support in the client's daily routines and activities. Your main duties will include:

• Personal care: Assistance with hygiene, showering, dressing and undressing, and other basic needs.
• Feeding and tube care: The client's nutritional intake is via tube feeding at fixed times, and you are responsible for administering this and providing necessary tube care.
• Transfers: Use of aids such as lifts to move the client from bed to wheelchair and between different places in the home.
• Social support: You will support the client in communication and be an important companion to counteract isolation, for example by participating in daily activities, such as planning purchases and accompanying to the store.
• Medical care: Administration of medications according to schedule and assistance with the use of medical equipment such as a nebulizer and cough machine.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

• Education as a nursing assistant or care worker, or previous experience from similar roles.
• Experience working with people with disabilities or elderly care is meritorious.
• Sense of responsibility and accuracy: You are a person who can take great responsibility to ensure good care and high quality of life for the client.
• Empathetic ability and a big heart for working with people.
• You are comfortable working independently and have the ability to follow instructions from healthcare personnel and relatives.

Working hours and extent

The position mainly involves work during weeks 28-31, but there is also the possibility of hourly employment after this summer period. The workplace is located in Askersund municipality (Vretstorp). You will be an important part of a team providing continuous care and support to the client.
