Women's Shelter Worker Wanted!

Women's Shelter Athena Övertorneå–Överkalix is a non-partisan and religiously independent non-profit organization working from a feminist perspective. The organization is a member of Roks.

We work for an Övertorneå and Överkalix where men's violence against women, girls, and children does not occur. The work takes place in both Övertorneå and Överkalix.

Job Responsibilities

The work is varied and includes, among other things:

• Providing individual support to abused women and children
• Leading group talks and support groups
• Responsibility for and development of the support activities
• Collaborating with other actors as needed
• Coordinating and developing our support chat
• Accompanying as support during contacts with healthcare facilities and authorities

Qualifications and Personal Attributes

We are looking for someone who:

• Is a woman and at least 20 years old
• Has experience from women's shelter or young women's shelter work (meriting)
• Has relevant education or experience in social work or similar
• Is attentive, confident, and empathetic
• Has good ability to work independently and take initiative
• Has good collaboration skills
• A valid driver's license (B) and access to a personal car are practically necessary for the position, as travel is included

We place great emphasis on personal suitability.

Employment Conditions

• Working hours: Daytime, with some evening and weekend work
• Probationary employment: 3 months, starting as soon as possible
• Salary: According to agreement (collective bargaining agreement exists)
• You will receive an introduction as well as relevant training and ongoing competence development in the field
• Opportunity for remote work
• General fixed-term employment with possibility of extension
