Teaching Assistant for Lower Grades at IES Södra Änggården
Description
We are now looking for you who wants to be part of developing our school!
Internationella Engelska Skolan Krokslätt in Gothenburg is an established independent school that started in 2010. In August 2024, we moved to a fantastic new school building by Änggårdsbergen where we also expanded our operations and changed the school's name to IES Södra Änggården. In the school year 26/27, we will be a three-stream F-9 school. We are now looking for you who wants to be part of our new adventure!
Our operations rest on three pillars:
* bilingualism (SW/ENG)
* calm and safe school environment
* high academic expectations.
Our profile is English and up to 50% of the teaching is conducted in English from grade 3 and upwards. The language is introduced gradually in the younger ages. We work with language development according to a method called Reading to Learn; if you have experience with this or similar, it is meritorious.
At IES Södra Änggården, all adults are there for the students, where good relationships with students, colleagues, and guardians are the foundation of our work. For us, it is important that you are an engaged and competent role model who continuously wants to contribute to developing the educational work together with your colleagues. At IES Södra Änggården, students are the most important thing we have, and as an educator, you need to be driven and flexible to give students the best schooling they can get. We have close contact with guardians and assume that you are positive and engaged in all parts concerning our students during their time at school.
We have clear rules and expectations for both students and staff to ensure a peaceful study environment and good knowledge acquisition. As an educator, you become part of a fantastic team with staff from around the world, where everyone can contribute their different skills. The working language between colleagues is primarily English.
We are part of the organization Internationella Engelska Skolan i Sverige AB (IES), which is one of Sweden's leading independent schools with 48 different schools in Sweden. Internationella Engelska Skolan follows the Swedish curriculum (upcoming LGR22).
We are looking for someone who wants to work as a teaching assistant with our students in need of support at school. We desire that you have experience working with students with autism/ID diagnoses.
Description of qualifications:
We want you as a person to be driven, positive, and have a strong work ethic. It is also important that you are a good and reliable team player. Here there are opportunities to work in an international and stimulating environment where commitment, professionalism, and the English language are common denominators. Experience with neurodevelopmental disorders is a requirement.
The position involves working with a student in the lower grades to support academic work and social contacts. Swedish and English are requirements, and experience from adapted compulsory school or integrated students from adapted compulsory school is meritorious.
We look forward to your application. An extract from the police record is a requirement for work in schools, and such a check will be made in connection with employment. Interviews are conducted continuously.
