Senior Financial Controller to Bankaktiebolaget Nordiska

We at Vindex are now looking for a Senior Financial Controller for our client.

In this key role, you will have overall responsibility for accounting and financial reporting in the parent company within a regulated banking environment, where you contribute with senior expertise, structure, and development of financial processes. The position is filled at a stage where the finance function continues to be strengthened and developed, giving you great opportunities to influence working methods, structure, and quality in financial reporting.

About the role

In this role, you will have a central position responsible for the quality of accounting and financial reporting, as well as handling technical accounting issues. You contribute with senior expertise, structure, and development within the finance function. You also have close dialogue with the Head of Finance and contribute with analysis and decision-making support in financial matters.

The role involves working in a complex and regulated environment with high demands on quality, structure, and financial control. You have overall responsibility for ensuring quality in bookkeeping, financial statements, and reporting, as well as handling technical accounting issues according to K3 and IFRS. The role entails great personal responsibility where you drive processes forward, create structure, and act as a stable and senior resource in the team.

Main responsibilities

• Responsible for and quality assure bookkeeping, financial statements, and financial reporting
• Handle and drive technical accounting issues according to K3 and IFRS
• Overall ownership of accounting-related issues within the parent company
• Drive improvement initiatives and streamline accounting and reporting processes
• Act as contact person towards auditors
• Support the organization in accounting issues and contribute to improved internal control
• Support the Head of Finance in complex accounting issues and help free up time for more strategic and business-oriented work
• Participate in and drive ad hoc projects within group accounting, financial reporting, and development of financial processes.

Qualifications

• University degree in finance, economics, or equivalent
• Experience working in regulated operations or financial environment is meritorious
• Several years of experience as Senior Financial Controller, Head of Accounting, or similar
• Solid knowledge and experience of accounting and financial reporting
• Good knowledge of K3 and/or IFRS
• Experience in handling technical accounting issues
• Experience from banking or financial sector is meritorious
• Background in auditing, preferably within financial companies, is meritorious
• Experience with ERP systems, preferably Netsuite, is meritorious
• Excellent communication skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
