It is difficult for me to summarize the job as my personal assistant and everything it entails. This is because personal assistance is personal and based on individual circumstances and needs. At the same time, my life is as diverse as yours when it comes to feelings, interests, and activities. To give you some clues, my interests vary depending on the season. I enjoy everything from swimming in my pool, cooking, and running with my Marathon wheelchair to museums, concerts, and the gym, to give you a few hints. A job as a personal assistant is varied, but with me you can think that your role broadly revolves around these three parts;

1. You help me with all basic needs with a strong sense of integrity and respect.

2. You are my physical support, meaning it is an advantage if you yourself care about your health and enjoy exercising in your free time.

3. You are my engine in daily life and, together with me and your colleague, responsible for planning activities and following routines.

These three parts of your professional role should be characterized by you being kind, empathetic, and communicative because that is how the collaboration works best. I turned 20 a few years ago, so my team is fairly young, everyone is around 20–30 years old.

I am young and want to live as active and social a life as possible, even though I cannot run on my legs, I roll forward in the races I participate in. Therefore, it is important to me that you, who apply, are active yourself and help me maintain and develop my interests. My life is like a roller coaster - some days I manage a lot, other days I need rest and recreation. My epilepsy is complex, and although you will learn everything you need to know during the introduction, it is meritorious if you have experience with personal assistance to understand what the role entails.

Flexibility is important to adapt days to current needs. My friends always come well-rested, patient, and bring themselves regardless of what conditions or obstacles I encounter in daily life. I want to complement you who think the same way and do not see me as your patient. I require a strong work ethic, which for you applying means you are reliable and treat me, your colleagues, and your profession with respect. You are also calm and understand that your contribution is vital for me; the understanding of relationship building and variation in my life creates the best conditions for both of us. Personal assistance means living a meaningful life with self-determination, which you contribute to most through interaction.

The role of personal assistant involves helping another person live their life. It requires a good ability to leave your own feelings and opinions aside at work, to be eager to learn new ways of communicating, and to understand that I, like you, have a range of emotions that vary. You are equally engaged and empathetic whether I want to go out and run (roll) or need to rest. There is room for you to share your interests, but conversely, you must always be positive about mine.

As you understand, I place great importance on personal suitability. Building a relationship does not happen overnight, so I am looking for someone who truly wants to do their best for me by getting to know me and understands that long-term commitment is the key to success. Previous experience is not a requirement, although it is naturally meritorious; regardless, an understanding of the professional role weighs the heaviest. Being able to work in a structured and organized manner is essential to create security and predictability for me, and I value someone who is proactive and can work creatively and motivationally with me.

Below are some practical conditions for the position:

· Start date according to agreement. You begin with an introductory schedule with day shifts, and then you will be offered a position of approx. 60-70% (we can be somewhat flexible with the degree of service). I am granted assistance around the clock; it is important to know that you stay awake during night shifts. You understand what it means to shift your day/night rhythm and be able to sleep during the day in order to come to me fresh and rested in the evening. If you have no previous experience with night work, you are of course welcome to apply, but remember that a night job does not mean your day gets 24 hours. Sleep is essential when working night shifts.

· Work shifts with me can be full days 08:00-20:00, mornings 5–7 hours, and afternoons 5–6 hours. The awake night shifts are 12 hours, 20:00-08:00. Some changes in times occur during the summer period 1 June – 31 August.

· During the introduction, we get to know each other, and you also learn a lot about my life. It is also nice and important that you get to know my other friends (assistants) so that everyone can cooperate.

· Any specific requests I would like you to specify in your application, e.g., requests for vacation during the summer - we have a summer schedule from June 1 to August 31. During this period, the schedule may be a bit different.

· Unfortunately, I cannot hire people with fur allergies or tobacco users (including substitutes like white snus and e-cigarettes).

· Fluent Swedish in speech and writing is a requirement, as is swimming ability.
