Temporary replacement cert. teacher in social studies subjects years 5-9, 76%
Description
Broskolan is beautifully situated in Svedjeholmen in the southwestern part of Örnsköldsvik. We are an independent primary school with a Christian profile covering preschool class to year 9, after-school care, and two preschool departments. The school has approximately 140 students in mixed-age classes and an operation where educators work closely with functions such as school administration, student health, kitchen, cleaning, and caretaking.
In recent years, Broskolan has been actively engaged in long-term school development work. Starting in the spring term of 2018, work began to develop pedagogy that strengthens students' physical well-being, participation, and knowledge results. This work continues and is constantly being developed, with a focus on what is best for both students and educators. Over the past three school years, we have had a particular focus on lesson design, and going forward, we are deepening our work in language-developing approaches.
As a social studies teacher at Broskolan, you are responsible for teaching and assessment in social studies subjects (history, geography, civics, and religion) in grades 5–9. We are looking for someone who wants to develop teaching in close collaboration with students and colleagues and who stays updated on current research. You actively contribute to collegial learning by sharing experiences and simultaneously challenging and developing both your own and others' teaching.
We value that you work with teaching based on scientific foundations and proven experience, where variation, adaptation, and clear structure are natural elements. You create conditions for student influence and help students take responsibility for and develop their own learning process through clear and forward-looking feedback. In your work, you have a clear student focus and strive to create a safe, permissive, and structured classroom climate.
You can easily build good relationships and meet both students and colleagues with curiosity and trust. Through high expectations and a strong belief in students' abilities, you contribute to teaching that is both supportive and challenging. Since Broskolan has a Christian values base, it is important that you share this fundamental outlook.
The position involves work four to five days per week, with a start date as agreed in August 2026.
