We are looking for a new colleague at 50% with immediate start until 261231, with possibility of extension, for our parent cooperative preschool Vasa Neon in central Gothenburg.

Vasa Neon is located in the city center and instills calm and security. Our ambition is for our children to have as few new contacts as possible, therefore we do not use a large pool of substitutes but have our own. This provides greater security for you, parents, children, and the rest of us who work here, as the staff present are known to our children, know our routines, and are familiar with our approach.

About us

Welcome to Vasa Neon. Here, five educators work: three preschool teachers, one childcare worker, and one preschool assistant. We all have as great a desire to learn as our children and constantly strive to stay updated on research. We do this, among other things, through internal training based on literature or attending lectures. Every year, staff are trained in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) to be prepared in an emergency.

We have one department consisting of 22-24 children aged 1-5 years. This group is divided into smaller groups each day to offer the best conditions for learning and development.

The activities you will participate in include routine situations, outdoor time, gatherings, rest, and teaching sessions. A welcoming atmosphere and great care for each other prevail here. We offer a workplace where joy, collegial learning, and a positive attitude and view of children are central. The children's desire, curiosity, creativity, and thoughts drive the education forward and ensure it constantly develops.

Tasks

As an employee with us, you are part of the work team and work to ensure that each child receives safe care, and you contribute to promoting all children's development and learning. This means that you, working with us, are active in implementing what is based on the work team's planning, using the curriculum (Lpfö 18/25) as a foundation.

Together with the work team, you look out for the child's best interests and meet each child based on their experiences and conditions. We work with low-arousal responses, and you are expected to be able to meet children in difficult situations with calm and understanding of the child's experiences and feelings.

Children should feel joy, desire, and curiosity about learning, so it is important that you are flexible and creative to adapt to the situation and the child's interests.

You help create a positive, meaningful, and developing environment where children's influence and participation are in focus. In daily contact with guardians, you develop a trusting relationship by being engaged, child-focused, and service-oriented.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who enjoys working with children and is committed to their work. You have good interpersonal skills and are easy to communicate and collaborate with children, parents, and colleagues. You have the ability to build trusting relationships, create calm, and contribute to making all children feel seen. If you have any form of pedagogical education and previous experience working in preschool or other educational settings, it is meritorious. You must be at least 18 years old and have very good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.

We will place great emphasis on your personal qualities.

Other information

We prefer that you live within a reasonable distance, as we occasionally need you on site at short notice.

There is a requirement for a criminal record extract when an offer of employment in preschool is made, according to the Education Act (SFS 2010:800, Chapter 2, Sections 31-33).
